Soul@Work is the fruit of mentorship, opportunities and relationships with colleagues and organisations spanning over three decades. * At embrace Consulting, with my co-founder Ilze Olckers, we undertook significant development of theory and praxis while asking big, deep, and meaningful questions. We explored paradoxes and conundrums relating to race and transformation in organisations. I am grateful for this seminal time with Ilze. As a lecturer at the Wits Centre for Diversity Studies, much of what was inspired and birthed at embrace was formalised into the accredited 2 and 5-day short-course programmes, Race, Diversity, Social Justice and Transformation in organisations. This was the Centre’s public offering to organisational leaders, practitioners and change agents. Joining a PhD programme at Wits Department of Psychology facilitated further critical engagement with racism, racialisation, anti-racism, social justice and equity in organisations.
